Well it depends ! do-follow is great for traffic
as there’s always a queue for people waiting to comment to get a backlink !
Just check if comment is appropriate and thereby approve / disapprove it . Huge nos of plugins are also available to combat spammy comments

Even I have made my blog do-follow a few days ago…but a commenter needs to make atleast 5 comments before his links turn do-follow.
i am too using Link Love plugin . Yeah me too set the max 5 to make that link do-follow

I installed Aksimet on all my blogs but fact of the matter is that I still get a HUGE number of SPAM comments coming through.
I outsourced the task of deleting spam so that I can get on with the real marketing stuff.
Yes, dofollow is a very cool thing. It definitely increases number of comments on blog. Of course there are many spammy comments, but it is not a big deal – Akismet plus Invisible Defender do good work

This is kind of you to make this a dofollow. The pity is you still get people adding comments via spam software, so utterly obvious one can smell it a mile away.
